About me

This website about Emilie Goldberger is my first website spin-off. The material I found about her was or is much too extensive for a normal blog text – something bigger was needed here. Otherwise you can find me on my main page www.susanne-wosnitzka.de. Exactly: I am the one with the female composers, the Danube Swallow (Donauschwalbe) of Twitter/X, Mastodon and Bluesky.

For about 20 years I have been dealing not only with music and cultural history, but especially with an important but often still unrecognized part of our overall history. One of my specialties is making cross connections visible and discovering exciting things in the process. For example, I have succeeded in tracking down Clara Schumann in Augsburg or in getting one (penultimate?) step closer to the lost original manuscripts of the oboe concertos by Beethoven and Mozart, where research had been at a standstill for over 20 years.

I am also a networker in this field, a seeker and finder of ideas, advisor, etc. etc. – and a re-shine-maker, because I originally come from the craft and learned in furniture restoration how to ‘fire’ with linseed oil and polish with real shellac: The same principle applies to reconditioning history.
